This Halloween, protect your pipes from a plumbing nightmare and freezing temperatures.

Halloween is full of tricks, treats, and pumpkin carving fun—but nothing’s scarier than a plumbing nightmare! Pumpkin guts and seeds may seem harmless, but when they dry, they become sticky like glue and can cling to the sides of your pipes, causing stubborn clogs, costly repairs and unnecessary water waste.

Join South Platte Renew (SPR) on October 21, 2025 from 1 pm - 2:30 pm for their final tour of the season! This special Community Event Tour is designed for community members who want to discover the fascinating journey of wastewater treatment.

What to Expect:

The district would like to remind customers to shut off and winterize their sprinkler systems before freezing temperatures arrive. The district responds to numerous service calls for frozen or broken irrigation lines each year.

Resource Central’s Spring Garden In A Box kits are sold out—but don’t worry! Late summer kits will be available starting Tuesday, June 18 for pickup and planting in August and September.

South Platte Renew is hosting their annual WaterFest event on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 3 PM to 7 PM located at their facility at 2900 S. Platte River Drive, Englewood, CO 80110.

Ben Dorak joined the District in 2020 as a Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection System Operator. In this role, he is responsible for responding to customer service calls, troubleshooting issues, and operating, maintaining, and repairing the District’s drinking water and sanitary sewer systems.

The District office will be closed on Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day.
