Are you experiencing low water pressure? Or too high?

What is the average water pressure for a home?

The answer will depend on your home’s physical relation to the water source supply. If your home is at a higher elevation relative to a water source location, you will have lower pressure. If your home is downhill from a water source, your water pressure will be higher. Average water pressure for a home in our district is about 75 psi, however this will vary depending on your location.

Hydrant Flushing Ensures Water Quality

August is National Water Quality Month!

The district works year round to ensure the water delivered to our customers is of the highest-quality. This is substantially achieved through hydrant flushing activities.

Routine hydrant flushing removes sediment and rust from the water and helps maintain proper chlorine concentrations. This routine maintenance keeps the water moving which prevents it from becoming stagnant and helps sustain the integrity of the pipes.

August is National Water Quality Month

National Water Quality Month reminds us how vital our drinking water is and how we can all play a role in protecting it.

Knowing where your water comes from makes it easier to appreciate the quality of your local waterways, and can motivate you and your community to keep these water sources as clean as possible. Educating yourself on where your water comes from and where it goes after you use it can help motivate you and your community to keep your water sources as clean as possible.

Beat the Heat! Stay Hydrated!

It is crucial to stay hydrated while performing physical activity in extreme heat and especially at high altitudes.

Heat exhaustion can occur as a combined result of a rising internal temperature and dehydration. Symptoms include nausea, dizziness, muscle cramps, feeling faint, headache, fatigue, and heavy sweating. Heat exhaustion is a serious condition because without early recognition and treatment, it can quickly progress to heat stroke. Heat stroke is a life-threatening medical emergency with a fatality rate of up to 71%.
